Cataract Surgery

At Texoma Retina and Glaucoma, your vision is a priority for our highly experienced cataract surgeons.

What is cataract surgery?

The natural lens in your eye contributes to refracting light rays that come into your eye onto your retina so that you can see clearly. Normally, this should be a clear lens, but with time may become cloudy. This is an inevitability of life and occurs at different speeds for different people. Your optometrist or ophthalmologist may recommend you have these removed when this lens becomes too cloudy or opacified to prevent light from entering your eye.

Cataract surgery is typically performed as an outpatient surgery where you will be awake and be able to go home the very same day. Typically, you will have to use eye drops after surgery and maintain light activity for a few days after surgery.

Cataract surgery is typically covered by medicare and private insurers. While this may be covered, your insurance may still require you pay some costs and will require you pay certain costs if you select an upgraded lens.

We offer advanced lens options from major manufacturers such as Alcon, Johnson and Johnson, Bausch and Lomb, and BVI:

-Multifocal and extended depth of focus lens: Panoptix, Symfony, Vivity

-Toric Lens Options

-Monofocal Lens: Clareon, Acrysof, Ipure, Eyehance families
